IDENTI•Tee's: OUR STORY

When Erik and I decided to go into business together, we agreed that it would be more than just about making money. We also want to make a difference. With IDENTI•Tee's, we've hit our mark, and in doing so, reveal a lot about who we are.

For instance, I, Tim Johnson, was raised on a farm in rural North Carolina, by my maternal grandmother, Ida Ruth Johnson. We never had very much money, but she taught me that as long as I remain true to myself, always give my very best, and apply what I learn to every situation, I can be successful at whatever I pursue in life. So, taking her advice, I enrolled into undergraduate school at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina fall semester 1989. From day one, I knew that I would be a Communication major, and in December of 1993, I graduated with honors from East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication (television production), and a minor in Theater. Since that time, I have worked alternately as a news producer for a local CBS affiliate in eastern North Carolina, as a shift supervisor for a telecommunication company in Atlanta, Georgia, as an account executive for an international distributor of finished hardware products, with an office in Santa Monica, California and most recently as an actor, writer, producer and director in Los Angeles, California. I have completed eight independent feature films, on some of which I worked both as an actor and assistant director. I am also a member of the Director's Guild of America as a Second Assistant Director. Though the path along my journey has had many detours, I have learned a great deal that has prepared me for the rigors of running a small business, and I've had many experiences that have made me a better person. Enough about me.

Let me introduce you to my partner, Erik Marsters. Erik's career in the motion picture industry has spanned almost 25 years! It all started at Saddleback College where he studied television production, and continued on to San Diego State University where he completed his studies in telecommunication and film. Erik has written and/or produced advertising and television campaigns for some of the biggest and earliest titles ever released on home video, including BACK TO THE FUTURE, E.T. THE EXTRA TERRESTRIAL, THE LAND BEFORE TIME and MIDNIGHT RUN. As Director of Creative Services and Marketing for Universal Studios Home Entertainment he produced, wrote and supervised the outside production of electronic advertising and marketing materials for all Universal Studios Home Video releases including JURASSIC PARK, SCHINDLER'S LIST, BACKDRAFT, CAPE FEAR and BEETHOVEN. In 1994, Erik left Universal Studios and started Erik Marsters Productions where he produced, wrote and directed national and local television commercials, trailers, featurettes, electronic press materials, radio spots and marketing presentations for UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOME VIDEO, UNIVERSAL FAMILY & HOME ENTERTAINMENT, SEGA GAMEWORKS, DREAMWORKS INTERACTIVE, SPECIAL OPERATIONS GROUP, SHOSHONE FIRST BANK, WESTERN REAL ESTATE as well as donating his talent and time to charitable causes such as DIVINE DESIGN (Project Angel Food) and the LOS ANGELES GAY & LESBIAN CENTER. Erik Marsters Productions also produced the national television and radio advertising campaign for the home video release of Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster, THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK. Erik's connection to these major motion picture projects, resulted from hard work and dedication, which are values we both share.

With IDENTI-Tee's, Erik and I pledge to donate 5% of our annual gross revenue to charity as a symbol of our will and desire to make a difference, and to make this world a better place.
